SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE AND LOCUS OF CONTROL–SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING IN AN ARGENTINE SAMPLE

The objective of the study was to analyze whether there are statistically significant differences in the dimensions of the Locus of Control Subjective Well-being (LCBS) depending on the level of Spiritual Intelligence (SI) and age, in an Argentine sample of adults. 203 participants between 18 and 62 years old were selected through non-probabilistic sampling, applying the Subjective Well-being Locus of Control Scale and the Spiritual Intelligence Scale (EIEs-28). The data were analyzed through a factorial MANOVA. The results showed a statistically significant influence of EI levels on the LCBS dimensions, with differences found in the dimensions of affective external control, charismatic internal control, material external control and destiny external control. However, no significant differences were found in relation to age or the interaction between age and IEs. In conclusion, the findings suggest that people with greater spiritual intelligence tend to depend less on external factors for their well-being, regulating their subjective well-being more autonomously and internally. These results highlight the importance of EI in the self-regulation of emotional well-being.
